Both Lamar University and Beaumont police officers will close the route, including intersections and parking lots, around 9:30 a.m.  This early closure allows time for floats and other vehicles to line up.  If after this time, a member of the Lamar Community or parade participant needs access to the route, the intersection officer will inquire about the need before granting access.

Students using city transit along the parade route will need to catch the bus at the car wash, Highland @ E. Virginia.  The buses will resume normal route at the conclusion of the parade, around 2:00 p.m.  The Lamar weekend shuttles will begin routes at 2:00 p.m.

University Drive Apartments residents will need to explain their route to police officers before exiting the parking lot.  The officer will decide the best way for the resident to proceed.

Direct any questions about closures to the Lamar University Police Department.  880-8307.
